Art is a universal language that can be very healing for even those individuals experiencing the greatest depths of hopelessness. I believe it evokes hope and serenity in those who have lost their own.

The UniQue Art Therapy Program enables elderly to express themselves in a way that expands their vision of their place in the world.

I hold a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Creative Arts Therapy (A.T.) / Psychology. I have over 6 years of experience providing art therapy and play therapy to children, adolescents, adults, older adults and families.

Art Therapists use the creative arts to promote the positive mental health of people of all ages. Art Therapy has been proven to reduce stress and increase confidence among patients with illnesses including: depression, developmental problems, addictions, social & emotional problems, violence and neurological problems.

The Alzheimer's Spouse
"Our Issues are Different"

The Alzheimer's Spouse

A website I started in July 07, when the shock of what Alzheimer's Disease was doing to a decades long loving marriage had me in emotional turmoil. You have come to a place of comfort for spouses who are trying to cope with the Alzheimer's/dementia of their husband/wife. The issues we face in dealing with a spouse with this disease are so different from the issues faced by children and grandchildren caregivers. We discuss all of those issues here - loss of intimacy; social contact; conversation; anger; resentment; stress; and pain of living with the stranger that Alzheimer's Disease has put in place of our beloved spouse.
